HOW COMPARISONS WORK

How Fiksusti compares

Fiksusti aims to help you compare your current contract with available alternatives. The information and calculation method depend on the service category.

How does a comparison work?

Phone and internet plans are compared using Fiksusti's product catalogue. Filters narrow the list by factors such as network, connection type, speed or provider. For electricity, your postal code and annual consumption are used to find and estimate available consumer contracts. The insurance section lets you review insurance types, save your own details and visit insurers' websites; Fiksusti does not display personalised insurance quotes.

How are results ordered?

On the website, phone and internet plans can be sorted by price, speed or provider. A recommendation is shown separately at the top. Electricity contracts are ordered by estimated annual cost; filters can narrow the contract type and eligibility. The Android app orders phone plans by monthly price, but its 4G view also features a predefined option. This means the app's 4G highlight can differ from the website's calculated recommendation.

Fiksusti recommends

The website's phone and internet recommendations use filtered, eligible plans and speed. Phone comparisons use first-year monthly-equivalent cost; internet recommendations use the listed monthly price. The least expensive suitable plan is the starting point. A faster option may be selected when it is at least twice as fast and costs no more than €2/month extra for phone or €5/month extra for internet. In the app, the current price and number of phone plans also affect eligibility; the 4G view additionally uses the predefined highlight described above. For electricity, the recommended option has the lowest estimated annual cost.

Partnerships

Some provider links are partner links and are labelled in the comparison. If you follow a labelled link and complete an eligible contract with the provider, Fiksusti may receive a commission. Not every provider shown is a Fiksusti partner.

Where does the information come from?

Phone and internet plan details are in a product catalogue maintained by Fiksusti. Electricity products are synced from open data published by the Finnish Energy Authority’s Sähkönhinta.fi service to Fiksusti’s own catalogue, then filtered by postcode. The insurance section shows insurance types and provider information, with links to insurers' own services.

How are savings estimated?

A savings estimate compares the current price you provide with the estimated price of a suitable alternative. Phone and internet estimates may account for first-year campaign prices and regular prices. Electricity estimates use annual consumption, postal code and contract pricing data. An estimate is not a guarantee: actual costs can depend on consumption, availability, add-ons, price changes and contract terms. Fiksusti does not calculate savings from insurer quotes.
